Today is one of those days.
I got a lot done — updated my website, created new products, all the little things that take time. And I’m happy with what I finished; it all looks good to my eye.
But once again… I’m behind on writing my blog.
Ideas pop into my head constantly. Things I need to do, want to do, plan to do — all hovering in the back of my mind waiting their turn.
Some days I feel like I need a job that lets me work two days a week so I can spend the other five on my business. It feels like there’s never enough time, and I’m too old to work all night. I’d wake up with keyboard keys imprinted on my face — and nothing done.
Today I realized I’m overstretching myself. I do have a full‑time job, and life doesn’t let me spend all my time on The Pinkyverse, no matter how much I wish it did.
As much as I want to do everything, it will burn me out — and I don’t want that. So it’s time to prioritize what actually helps me move forward, not just fill up my time and get me nowhere.
We learn on a daily basis.
I’ve re‑evaluated everything I’m doing and I’m streamlining it to work for me. If something isn’t working, it’s time to step back. Mainly social media — I’ll still be there, just not as regularly. I’ll keep doing the things that show growth and let the rest slow down.
I also created a new subdomain: Deb’s Picks.
It’s still in progress, but it’s where I’ll share recommendations for things I use, like, or find helpful — anything that might help, work, or entertain someone else.
So today’s blog post is about knowing when to re‑evaluate what you’re doing. Resetting priorities to get better results. Everything I do is fluid.
Things change and I learn.
I learn and things change.
I adjust – that’s how I grow.
This was a bit rambling, but writing it out helps me. Hopefully it helps someone else too.
Have you reached a point where you want to bounce your head off the desk?
Where you feel like you’re doing too much for too little?
It might be time to re‑evaluate what you’re doing.
Let me know – I’d love to hear about it.
